After four years as chancellor of New York City’s schools, Carmen Fariña plans to retire this spring. We are grateful for her leadership and lifetime of service to the city’s school system.

Richard Carranza, most recently in charge of the Houston Independent School District, will replace Fariña. This transition brings an opportunity to reflect and look ahead. In which areas is the school system where it needs to be, and where is it falling short? What do you want Mr. Carranza to prioritize?

Let him hear your voice.

We will share select letters with Chancellor Carranza and NYC Department of Education, as well as publish some ourselves.
