UPCOMING EVENT: December 3
This year, Teens Take Charge is amplifying the voices of students being left behind in the nation's largest and most segregated school system.
58,000 NYC teens attend 155 small high schools where, on average, just 1 in 8 classmates passed the 8th grade state English exam.
• That's more than triple the enrollment of the city's specialized high schools.
• Those students are 93% Black and Hispanic and overwhelmingly low income.
• Almost all of those schools have college readiness rates below 20%.
Join us on December 3 for an evening of student testimony that cannot be erased.
